Designer Fashion Sunglasses and Optical Frames

Oliver Peoples, is the premiere supplier of luxury designer sunglasses and prescription glasses with superior optics.

Oliver Peoples Summer 2008 is proud to introduce ‘suspended metal’. This technology is exclusive to Oliver Peoples eyewear and is a great accomplishment in sunglass design. This achievement is the result of several years of labor and is one of a number of elaborate advancements in the collection this season. Other notable elements include triple-laminating of frame materials and core-wire visibility with vintage logo detailing. While remaining faithful to our foundation of classic sophisticated styles, Oliver Peoples is also committed to combining the original aesthetic with new advances in technology to create the absolute best looking and highest quality eyewear possible.

The Summer 2008 Sun Collection includes the debut style of our new category, Suspended Metal: the Sofiane. A metal wire is encased in two layers of hand-sculpted plastic, resulting in the metal appearing ‘suspended’. The Sofiane is elegant and feminine. Other styles in the collection continue expanding the trends of last season: heavily rounded and beveled frames designed for tastemakers with distinct, substantial looks.

Two notable styles of the season are the Ballerina and Alina. The Ballerina is a substantial, plastic sunglass with a distinctive, heavy rounded bevel. Inspired by old-world Hollywood glamour, the style perfectly embraces an elegant, yet bold expression. Inspired by the 50s French Riviera, the Alina is a very womanly sunglass in a sassy cat-eye shape, which bears a beautifully beveled plastic top bar and is milled to reveal each laminate layer from the front.

Several frames are now available in new sizes. Popular modified aviators Farrell (62) and Victory (58) are offered in a smaller and larger eye size, respectively. Two brand-defining styles, the Tycoon (51) and Lukas (47) are now both available in larger eye sizes. The Tycoon (51), an identifiable Oliver Peoples aesthetic, is hand-crafted in voluminous plastic with bold temples. Both retro frames feature pin-detailing and vintage colors, such as SLB with green lenses or 8108.
