The Summer 2008 Optical Collection draws inspiration from the Oliver Peoples archive while incorporating cutting-edge developments in frame design. The Massine is a vintage-inspired female frame, hand-crafted in a metal/plastic material combination. The intricate end piece and temples are constructed of thin, hypoallergenic titanium. The top bar is inlaid in thin triple laminate plastic eyewire, resulting in a detailed appearance while remaining feather-light. Another optical frame using technically complex enhancements is the Gehry, a modern masculine frame streamlined in hand-crafted thick plastic. The tapered end piece is forged in smooth contours and features a custom-designed hinge that is set by hand.

Other optical styles revisit key elements from previous influential Oliver Peoples designs. This includes the Larabee, Sheldrake and Riley (48), which feature rounded contouring, a keyhole bridge and a visible core-wire along the interior of the temples. The Danver and Shaw frames are masculine, rectangular-shaped designs. The Shaw is a slender frame available in appealing colors for both men and women. The Cady, Laraine and Devereaux are feminine and retro in fashion, and are available in exclusive new colors Topaz and Garnet Gradients.
