This collection marks the third in a series of musical compilations between Oliver Peoples and boss:nova, the Los Angeles based club and DJ collective that bloomed from the tastemaker record label Quango Music Group.  Continuing the pursuit of sound and vision, Oliver Peoples 3 pushes the boundaries further and features electronic music pioneers Charles Webster, King Britt, Photek and Jazzanova with Vikter Duplaix.

The overwhelming popularity of our first limited edition compilation paved the way for the second installment and inspired the tag line - “Music and style, sound and vision.  A collection of songs from around the world to keep your life in focus.”  Oliver Peoples 2 embodies the pulse of the emerging global electronic music scene and among the mix features the contemporary yet seminal dance-floor reggae anthem by Noiseshaper, appropriately titled the only redeemer.   The unmistakable sound of Oliver Peoples is defined yet again and the voyage of musical discovery continues.

January 2000

Oliver Peoples established its music initiatives in 1993, well before our first branded compilation was released, by being one of the first to retail a selection of music from the tastemaker record label Quango Music Group.  The vision and relationship began at our Sunset boutique where Rudy Manhiem’s desire to champion new and emerging artists to his clientele planted the seed for Oliver Peoples One.  This groundbreaking compilation featured many artists who later went on to critical acclaim, such as Gotan Project, Tosca, Boozoo Bajou and Rae & Christian.  The idea and philosophy behind the creative foundation in all our compilations remains the same:  timeless music that pushes boundaries and inspires.
