Oliver Peoples at Fashion’s Night Out in LA!
“In a global initiative to promote retail, restore consumer confidence and celebrate fashion, U.S. and International editions of Vogue coordinated an evening extravaganza in their respective world fashion capitals.” - Fashion’s Night Out
Thousands of Angelinos ventured out to support the Los Angeles dimension of Fashion’s Night Out. Boutiques along Melrose, Robertson, Rodeo and the Promenade in Santa Monica opened their doors to invite patrons to shop and mingle until well after usual hours. Stores enticed shoppers with fashion shows, complimentary cocktails, free makeovers, elaborate window displays and giveaways, as well as celebrity appearances and live music, whether it be a band or DJ.
Amid the multiple venue options, the scene attracting the most activity was the Fred Segal Center on Melrose. The party hosted workshops, games, demonstrations, an open bar and special stylist meet-n-greets - including with our very own Co-Founder and Creative Director: Larry Leight! Others included Maison Martin Margiela, who hosted a mugshot-style photo booth. Customers were amazed by a dress pieced from shards of vinyl records, as well as an eccentric jacket made of blonde wigs, which our own Senior Director of Brand Image (Michelle Walnum) enjoyed trying on.
The Oliver Peoples display in the Ron Herman boutique of Fred Segal included vintage OP-505 frames, a Harlot Diamond and a beautiful showcase of ‘The 9 Frames’, including their original sketches! It was fun to meet fans and drool over the design talent assembled in one place for a sole purpose! It was a pleasure to participate and applaud the global initiative to spark shoppers from recessive retreat! We hope everyone had as good a time as we did!
